*** IMPORTANT: This session is an extended multi-day event (see schedule for exact times/locations), Geeklings [and Geeks!] are free to come and go as needed. If what you want to work on is in use, stop back in at a later time to try again, or try one of the other amazing projects!! Teaming up with parents or other Geeklings is strongly encouraged, especially for the more advanced tasks! IF attendees have access to a Raspberry Pi 2 or 3 (or other Windows IoT Core compatible device), bring it along to participate in ThatPiHunt! SD Cards and software will be available to borrow in the Lab to load onto the Raspberry Pi. *** Come on down to the Robotics / Internet of Things (IoT) Lab to have some fun with robots and sensors! Test your programming prowess by navigating the Ruins of Atlantis, Palm Island or any of the other Robot Virtual Worlds! Try your hand at some home automation with the Raspberry Pi and Windows 10 IoT! Get your build on with VexIQ simple machines and sensor projects! We'll have pre-built robots that can be driven around our race / obstacle course, kits with instructions to build simple mechanisms and simple robots and laptops with RobotC / Robot Virtual Worlds loaded up and ready to go. * NEW for 2016: Arduino based mini-rovers to program using Arduino Studio * NEW for 2016: Raspberry Pi-based IoT projects * NEW for 2016: ThatPiHunt - Windows IoT Core powered exploration! * VexIQ Kits and Instructions will be available on first-come, first-served basis, come back later if your chosen project is not available! * Robotics Kits and software are available for use during the lab, but all robotics parts and components must be left in the lab room when your project is complete * Photo station where you can take your photo with your robot / creation! * RobotC and Robot Virtual Worlds [with the ‘Summer of Learning’ license] will be available to load on personal laptops if desired * IoT kits / components are for use in the lab setting only Come on down and have some fun, projects are expected to take anywhere from 30 - 60 minutes to complete on average.
