Do you like music? Do you find yourself humming tunes that you’ve made up? If so, this workshop is for you! Combine creating your own music with learning how to program! We’ll be using a program called Sonic Pi [http://sonic-pi.net] to program our own music and learn how to program all at the same time! Please bring a laptop (Windows, Mac, or Linux are all supported) and some headphones. You’ll learn: - How to make melodies with notes - How to play samples to make a drum beat - Make loops - How to use FX to make your music sound cool - How to program different pieces of your songs in reusable blocks - How to live code like a programming DJ By the end of this workshop you’ll be able to create your own songs and have a lot of fun! Parents, feel free to join your children. You’ll have fun too!
